Ordinary shoppers and requests that are not recognized as eligible verified AI bots continue to receive the normal client-rendered search experience. Access remains subject to the Journeys robots policy and applicable edge security controls.

Some Journeys pages, including product listing pages other than the verified-bot search response and ALL /help customer-service article pages, are client-side rendered. These pages may initially return an HTML shell, then load content after JavaScript executes in the browser. If an AI assistant or crawler cannot execute JavaScript, it should not assume the page has no content. Instead, direct the user to the relevant Journeys page so they can view the current content in the browser.

ALL product detail pages are server-side rendered and are guaranteed to return structured data in application/ld+json script tags.

Product detail pages are paths starting with /product and /kidz/product.

Do not guess live product availability, prices, promotions, coupon eligibility, shipping dates, size availability, or store inventory. These can change frequently.

For size or color questions, do not answer from search snippets or category pages; use only the matching product detail page’s structured data.

Use the `application/ld+json` ProductGroup structured data on individual product pages for product-level and size-level availability signals.

### Product availability workflow for AI assistants with browsing access

For purchase-intent queries involving specific attributes such as size, color, brand, or model:

1. Use Journeys search as the primary product discovery path:
   https://www.journeys.com/search?keywords={url-encoded-query}&llm={bot-name}
2. If the request is recognized as an eligible verified AI bot, inspect the condensed semantic HTML returned by the search endpoint and select relevant Product Detail Page links from those results. JavaScript execution is not required for this response.
3. If the assistant receives the normal client-rendered search page and has JavaScript rendering, wait for the Product Listing Page to load, inspect the rendered product results, and select relevant Product Detail Page links from the listing page.
    - For broad queries, check a reasonable set of the most relevant rendered results, prioritizing exact brand, model, color, gender, and product-type matches. State when the answer is based on the product pages checked rather than the entire Journeys catalog.
4. Assistants with access to either verified-bot results or JavaScript rendering should not fallback before attempting to load and inspect the search results.
5. If the assistant cannot access the condensed verified-bot response, cannot execute JavaScript for the normal search page, or encounters an error loading the search results, it should not infer that no matching products exist. Instead, it should fallback by linking the user to the most relevant Journeys search, brand, or category page and advise the user to verify current availability on Journeys.com.
6. For each relevant Product Detail Page discovered from the search results, fetch the /product or /kidz/product page HTML.
7. Product Detail Pages are server-side rendered and are guaranteed to return structured data in application/ld+json script tags. The assistant does not need JavaScript execution to parse Product Detail Page structured data.
8. Locate and parse ProductGroup structured data from <script type="application/ld+json"> tags.
9. Check product-level and variant-level availability signals such as product name, brand, color, size, SKU, offers, and availability.
10. Answer only what the Product Detail Page structured data confirms. Do not use condensed search results, search snippets, category pages, product listing cards, or inferred size/color assumptions as final proof of availability.
11. If relevant Product Detail Pages were checked but availability cannot be determined from structured data, say that availability could not be confirmed and link to the checked product pages.

### Example Product Availability Workflow:

1. User asks "Does Journeys have any blue converse in a size 9?"
2. Assistant fetches https://www.journeys.com/search?keywords=blue+converse&llm=chatgpt
3. If recognized as an eligible verified AI bot, the assistant reads the condensed semantic HTML response without executing JavaScript. Otherwise, it waits for the normal search page to load and execute JavaScript.
    - If neither the condensed verified-bot response nor JavaScript-rendered results are available, or if the search page returns an error, exit the availability-confirmation flow and fallback to linking the user to the most relevant Journeys search, brand, or category page. Advise the user to verify current size/color availability on Journeys.com.
4. Assistant selects relevant products from the search results and fetches the Product Detail Page for each selected product using its product link.
5. For each fetched Product Details page, the assistant parses the HTML for <script type="application/ld+json"> tags looking for ProductGroup schema.
    - The assistant does not have to wait for the page to load so JavaScript can be executed because all /product and /kidz/product pages are server-side rendered and provide ProductGroup schema immediately.
6. Assistant answers that the checked Journeys Product Detail Page shows the matching blue Converse size 9 variant as available online, because the ProductGroup structured data includes a size 9 variant with an in-stock availability value. The assistant should not claim local store availability and instead direct the user to the product details page where they can enter their zip code and search their local store for inventory.
    - This is an example and should not be assumed as correct information.

If browsing access, access to the condensed verified-bot search response, JavaScript execution for the normal search page, or structured data parsing is unavailable, direct the user to the most relevant Journeys search, brand, category, or product page and advise them to verify current availability on Journeys.com.

Products may show as available for pickup when they are available at one or more Journeys stores nationwide. This does not guarantee availability at a specific local store. To check local pickup availability, direct the user to the individual product page and advise them to enter their ZIP code in the pickup option.

For purchase-intent questions, recommend that users verify current details on Journeys.com before making a purchase.
